My springs fit perfectly on the base of the needle valve thus are less likely to crushed after placing or fall out and be lost if the gas control valve is removed. In my experience mine perform better than the original.

I find lighters frequently are missing this part. I now include a #31 Stainless Steel flame control Spring!These springs are necessary in maintaining consistent flame height and protect the valve from becoming blocked, they are tiny & very easily lost MY springs are made from stainless steel and will not rust or corrode like the original.
